“low-carbon” is one of the most popular buzz-words in this year. not only china but all countries focus on the topic of “low-carbon”.
here, i’d like to share my own e_perience abroad with you. several years ago, i was very lucky to have an opportunity to live in the australia about half a month. during that time, not only did i enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also i appreciated the people’s active way of protecting their environment. now, whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the beautiful scenery of australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily among the trees.
as a citizen of china, if everyone can actively protect the environment in our daily life and if we would like to reduce our carbon footprint, the scenery of blue sky, green grass and lovely animals in australia will appear in china, even in hefei.
but i totally support the view, that is to say, emotion without action is irrelevant! do you unplug electronics after you use them? do you switch off everything before you go to sleep? do you adjust your tv screen a bit dimmer to save energy? do you re-use water for different activities around the house? each of these seemingly insignificant adjustments in your daily life can make a difference in saving the environment of tomorrow.
we all know that nothing is more comfortable than sitting in the warmth of a hearted car while it’s snowing and hailing outside in the freezing cold…but with global warming and even global cooling becoming more pressing by the day, not to mention your own health, take a walk ,ride a bike ,reduce your carbon footprint on the environment .it is said that tiny streams can be combined into a vast ocean, small trees can be an immense forest, and every little makes a mickle.
“low-carbon” is not just a buzz-word but a goal that people from all over the world wanna get. so, reduce carbon footprint! reduce damage! save energy! save the world!

good morning, ladies and gentleman,
imagine a world when you wake up in a hot and stuffy weather, while the sky is no longer blue, the streets are crowded with annoying cars with the buzzing sound and the e_haust pipes blow out this horrible black smoke. what is your feeling about it?
in our current society, we can’t be more familiar with the phrase ----the low carbon economy. we all take it for granted due to the fact the concept of low carbon economy enjoys a higher and higher popularity in our daily life, especially after today’s speech contestj .but how can we achieve the goal of low carbon economy?
while some hold the opinion that it is a matter of the government or it is the business of some big enterprises or companies, and it has nothing to do with us. however, to achieve the aim of low carbon economy, the efforts of governments or enterprises is far from enough. low carbon economy can’t go further without low carbon life styles. they are going side by side with each other.
so what’s low carbon life style?
let’s look back on our daily life. every morning as soon as you open your eyes, are you used to turn on the lights immediately when the room is bright enough as long as you draw the window curtains apart? is that your habit that when you are brushing your teeth you leave the water tap running on? are you accustomed to setting the temperature of the air conditioner in your office below 26 degrees celsius? in general, a low-carbon lifestyle covers many aspects of our modern life, such as cooking, transportation, home heating, and holiday travel, which can be conducted in a way that gives the ma_imum reduction of personal carbon emissions. it is a life with low energy, low consumption, low e_penses.
nowadays, in our country, a newly emerging generation----- "low carbon generation" in the metropolis has set a good e_ample for us. traditional clockwork alarm has regained their preference instead of electronic alarm clock; they make sure to turn off the electric equipments like computers or lights after use; they try their clothes under the sunshine while avoiding tumble dryers; what’s more, they jog in the park nearby to replace the 30-min e_ercise on the electric treadmill; paper cups will no longer be held in our hands and so on. the "low carbon generation" are taking immediate actions in every details of their life to demonstrate that low carbon economy is not the responsibility of governments or companies, but our duty as individuals. so, not only does low carbon life style mean a style of life, it means an attitude towards life.
we should follow the footprint of the low carbon generation and take every step to create our low carbon footprint.
there is a saying,
yesterday is a history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
but today is gift, that’s why it is called the present.
so, my dear teachers and classmates who drive to school today, are you ready to jog home tonight?

low carbon life is a very environmental protection and civilization. my understanding is that of low carbon in daily life from yourself, from small start, minimize every possible cost. of course, low carbon is main or refers to reduce carbon dio_ide emissions.
actually, low carbon life from everyone very close, as long as pay more attention to some of the details, life can have to reduce energy consumption role. my life in some low carbon small doohickey of water-saving aspects is aims at. production tap water and wastewater treatment are to a significant amount of energy. so, water is energy saving.
for e_ample; water may be used for washing a face wash the feet of water, wash clothes can be used to rinse dishcloth, clean the floor, then these wastewater can again to flush the toilet; water after washing vegetable can be used to water the flowers. don"t look down upon these water reuse, accumulated, only a 3 home can save a ton per month above water.
in addition, if monthly wash clothes, so once per washer can save electricity, also saves power of the coal, also will reduce carbon emissions, if all the family can do monthly by hand to wash clothes, reduce the emissions of carbon dio_ide once is 68.4 tons, can achieve this figure is very surprising. meanwhile, but use washing machine while holding with clothes to wash washing machine also can cause unnecessary waste.
so for us students have more ways energy-saving
paper, save paper; use double-sided
need not disposable chopsticks and disposable lunch bo_;
need not disposable bags;
reduce food waste;
the lights on, conveniently mind faucet.
our earth needs we work together to love, let us start from around things, cherish resources, reduce the energy consumption and make our life more beautiful.
低碳的生活是一件非常环保和文明的事。我对低碳的理解就是在日常生活中从自己做起，从小事做起，最大限度地减少一切可能的消耗。当然，低碳主要还是指减少二氧化碳的排放。
其实，低碳的生活离每个人都很近，只要多注意生活中的一些细节，就可以起到降低能耗的作用。我的生活中的一些低碳小窍门就是针对节水方面的。生产自来水和处理污水都要耗费大量的能源。所以，节水就是节能。
例如；洗脸的水可以用来洗脚，洗衣服的水可以用来涮抹布，擦地板，然后这些废水可以再冲马桶；洗完菜的水可以用来浇花。别小看这些水的重复利用，积累下来，仅一个三口之家每月就可以节约一吨以上的水。
另外，如果每月手洗一次衣服，那么每台洗衣机就可以节约用电，也就节约了发电的煤，同样也就减少的二氧化碳的排放，如果全国所有的家庭都能做到每月用手来洗一次衣服，减排的二氧化碳可以达到68.4万吨，这个数字是非常惊人的。同时洗衣机虽然好用，但是三两件衣服就用洗衣机来洗也会造成不必要的浪费。
那么对于我们学生来说还有更多的方法节能
纸张的双面使用，节约用纸；
不用一次性的筷子和一次性的饭盒；
不用一次性的塑料袋；
减少粮食的浪费；
随手关灯，随手管好水龙头。
我们的地球需要我们共同来爱护，让我们从身边的小事做起，珍惜资源，降低能耗，让我们的生活更加美好。
